HERON ALICIA
INSTRUCTOR

Heron is a Full Spectrum Doula + Birthworker, Family Caretender, Movement + Dance Facilitator, Queer Parent, and Advocate. They bring in mushy, loving, awkward, contemplative, and silly energy to birth, parenting, and movement spaces with the goal of uplifting individuals, families and communities in support of their healing journeys.
Heron focuses on advocacy, education and nervous system regulation through affirming care and intentional movement, and infuses joy, emotional release, and raw expression in their work. They love to talk about emotions and yummy food, parenting and communal care, the loveliness of cellulite and stretch marks, all things queer, and gardening. They live with their wife in what is now known as Ferndale, WA, on unceded Lummi land, with an awesome teenager and three cats. You might just find them frolicking in the rain and stomping in puddles in their matching rainbow pajamas.
Social Locations: White-ish, non-binary, lesbian, queer. Lower class upbringing. Experienced housing insecurity and divorce during childhood. Generally had food security. Generally had access to healthcare. US-born citizen. English is their first language. Not apparently disabled. Attended university on scholarships and financial aid. Neurodivergent, anxiety + depression diagnosis, survivor of disordered eating.
